2. Products and Services

Love on Thread produces custom, hand-painted watercolor portraits with embroidered elements. Each work is made-to-order on the basis of photographs and instructions supplied by the client. The essential characteristics of the commissioned artwork (dimensions, embroidered elements, and color palette) are confirmed with the client following submission of the order form.

3. Orders

Clients must complete the online order form, uploading up to five reference photographs and specifying their preferences for embroidery and personalization. A deposit of €20 is required at submission.
Love on Thread will contact the client within 24 hours to discuss the project in detail. Once the design is agreed, a secure Stripe payment link is provided to settle the remaining balance, including shipping.
Work commences only after full payment has been received.

4. Prices and Payment

Prices are expressed in euros (€).
Payments are processed exclusively via the secure third-party service Stripe.
Love on Thread does not have access to clients’ payment information; all financial transactions are handled solely by Stripe.
In the event of payment errors, disputes, or issues, clients must contact Stripe directly. Love on Thread cannot be held responsible for any technical or financial issues arising from the payment process.
The deposit is refundable only within 24 hours, or if artistic visions do not align during the initial discussion.
Beyond these cases, all payments are final and non-refundable.
Promo codes are valid only under the conditions specified by Love on Thread.
Each code can be used once per customer, unless otherwise stated.
Promo codes cannot be combined with other offers unless explicitly allowed.
Love on Thread reserves the right to modify, cancel, or withdraw promo codes at any time without notice.

5. Processing Times

Estimated processing time is 1–4 weeks, depending on workload.
In case of force majeure or exceptional circumstances, Love on Thread will notify the client promptly of any delays.
Priority service is available: completion within 5 days for an additional 50% surcharge on the total order price.

6. Shipping

Orders are dispatched via tracked shipping, with tracking information shared as soon as provided by the postal service.
Shipping fees vary by destination, typically €5–20.
If artwork arrives damaged, clients must notify Love on Thread within 24 hours, with photographic evidence. A replacement will be produced and shipped at no cost.
Once delivered in good condition, Love on Thread is not responsible for damage arising from improper handling, storage, or framing.

7. Customs and Import Duties

Clients may be subject to customs duties or import taxes, which remain their responsibility unless otherwise agreed in writing.

8. Right of Withdrawal

Custom orders are considered personalized goods under Article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code. Therefore, the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply, and all confirmed custom orders are final and non-returnable.

9. Cancellations and Refunds

Clients may cancel within 24 hours of order placement for a full deposit refund.
If artistic visions do not align during the initial discussion, the deposit shall also be refunded.
Beyond these cases, cancellations and refunds are not possible once the design is approved.

10. Materials and Responsibility

Portraits are created on Arches 100% cotton cold-pressed paper, 300g/140lb, grain fin, with professional Winsor & Newton watercolors and DMC mouline threads, and sealed with wax for protection.
Clients must protect the artwork from humidity, direct sunlight, and inappropriate framing.
Love on Thread is not liable for any damage occurring after delivery in good condition.

11. Intellectual Property

Ownership of the physical artwork transfers to the client upon delivery.
All reproduction rights (printing, digital use, commercial use) remain with the artist unless otherwise agreed in writing.
At checkout, clients indicate whether they consent to Love on Thread sharing the artwork and reference photographs on social media or the website (Yes / No / Yes, but only after gifting).
Digital files may be provided only upon special request for an additional fee, and all photographs of the final artwork shared with the client during the creation process will include a watermark.
All website content, including text, images, graphics, and design elements, is owned by Love on Thread and may not be copied or reproduced without explicit permission.

12. Website Usage

Access to the website and submission of orders is restricted to adults who have reached the legal age of majority in their country.
Users must not use the website for illegal purposes or to infringe the rights of Love on Thread or third parties.
Love on Thread reserves the right to refuse or suspend orders or access in cases of misuse, abuse, or fraudulent activity.
Love on Thread may modify the website, offerings, or these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice.
Love on Thread does not guarantee uninterrupted access to the website and shall not be liable for technical issues, downtime, or errors.
The website is created and hosted using Wix, a third-party website builder and hosting service.

13. Governing Law and Consumer Mediation

These Terms & Conditions are governed exclusively by French law.
All visitors and clients, including those located outside France, are bound by these Terms when using the website.

In the event of dispute, clients are invited to contact Love on Thread at contact@loveonthread.com for amicable resolution.
